Lizzie was working on the picture below at the coffee table in the family room.

Me: What are you drawing there Liz?

Elizabeth: A king and queen. And this is the princess and the queen has a baby.

Me: Oh really? What are they king and queen of?

Elizabeth: What do you mean?

Me: What country do they rule?

Elizabeth: Iowa.

At dinner the other night:

Elizabeth: “I’m not sure what I want to be when I grow up.”

Emily: “That’s ok, you don’t have to decide that yet.”

Josie: “I wanna be a [unintelligible]!”

Emily: “You want to be a … princess?”

Elizabeth: “She said she wants to be a fish.”

Emily: “…”

Emily: “You want to be a fish?”

Josie: “YES!!”

Happy Fourth of July from the Lorellis!

Abigail recently hit the six month mark, so to celebrate I have a (hopefully simple) challenge for family and friends. I selected a representative photo for all four kids from around the age of six months, cropped them, and arranged them randomly.

Can you correctly identify all four?

Emily and I drove Abigail home from the hospital after one of the heaviest snow storms in recent memory. I took some pictures of our street so we could remember what it looked like:

She’s here! Emily and I are thrilled to welcome Abigail Ruth Lorelli to our family. Hello my new one!

Jacob: Dad, look at my picture! It’s the Incredible Hulk!

Me: Cool! What’s that next to him? Is that his…purse?

Jacob: Noooo – that’s a cage.

Me: A cage?

Jacob: It’s his cage for catching giggles!
